Long description: In Asturias, there were three moments on which young men went together to
ask for the “ aguinaldo” (Christmas carol) : carnival, All
Saints’ day (1st November) and Christmas. The last one is the most common
time for this activity. On the album there are fourteen tracks (aguinaldo or
villancicos) compiled all over asturian geography by Andecha Folclor d’
Uviéu, one of the ethnographic groups that have worked on the
recuperation of Asturian musical patrimony. Members of the group are the ones who perform the tunes compiled on their investigation.
