Musica Asturiana y Nueva Era Author: Sémplice
Asturian traditional melodies and versions of classical y modern pieces by a
duet of harpa and violin, with a sound which mingles the classical, folk and
new age. Long description: Sémplice is formed by harpist Danuta Niwelt and violinist Jacek
Niwelt, who come together on this album to perform a good number of traditional
Asturian melodies with the particular air that their classical formation lends
them but as the title of the CD apprises the two Niwelts aim at offering a new
approximation to the songs performed. The outcome of Música Asturiana
y Nueva Era (Asturian Music and New Age) is a new sound which blends the
classical, the folk and New Age. All of the arrangements are Danuta Niwelt´s
and the work includes pieces by several classical authors (as well as others
less so), in an attempt to get away from the strict tradition of Asturian folk
music in order to approach a more personal and defined style of their own.
