Long description: MECIGAYA is the second studio album by Asturian folk band
SKANDA, recorded at the Odds Studio, in Xixón, and
produced by Paco Loco. There are eleven tracks included in the work, all of
which are either traditional pieces arranged by the band or original creations.
The wide variety of the bandīs influences (rock, reggae, funk, blues...) is
once again present in this recording, lending it greater yet nuances than those
displayed in their previous album. SKANDAīs new CD presents us with a
group of musicians utterly without complexes, doing exactly what they want to,
musically; which grants the band a truely unique style--a distinct and
innovative personality on the flourishing Asturian folk scene.
