Xunta Moza (youth section of the Asturian Language Defense Movement, Xunta pola Defensa de la Llingua), in collaboration with record label L´Aguañaz, are the promotors of this compilation album which features up to 32 Asturian bands which use the Asturian language in their music, 16 in each disc, including bands from the most diverse styles and tendencies in both rock and folk music. A double album of which the Discu AZUL (Blue Disc) is dedicated to traditional Asturian "tonada" song form and Asturian-celtic folk music, and the discu MARIELLU (Yellow Disc), is dedicated to pop, rock, electronic sounds, etc in Asturian.
Besides the strictly musical value of the CD set, interactive elements such as band pictures, lyrics and a video of the recording sessions have been include. One of the CDs includes a documentary with video and image clips of many of Xunta Moza´s campaigns in favour of the Asturian language and culture, as well as video clips of famous public events by the association. A lot of the graphic materials are taken from the Xunta´s own files and were until now unpublished. The second CD includes information on all of the bands (pictures, biographies, lyrics, etc.).
Most of the tracks are previously released works although there are also songs which were especially re-recorded for this album, as well as previously unreleased recordings and debuts of some new Asturian bands. The funds from sales of this double CD set will be used to support further campaigns by Xunta Moza in favour of the Asturian language and culture.
