This exceptional recording brings together the prodigious voices of four of the
most respected tonada singers in Asturies: Jorge Tuya, Ismael Tomás,
José Manuel Collado and Ché de Cabaños.
Long description: The promotors of
the album, singer-songwriter Chus Pedro (of "Nuberu") and well known
producer Gabino Antuña are able to combine on a single CD four of the
most acclaimed careers in all of the history of tonada, a unique and much
appreciated traditional Asturian song from.
The four singers themselves have expressed their full satisfaction with the
result achieved, which speaks sufficiently of the level of this recording and
the performance it contains. No wonder, since it is hard to think of any
previous recording of this style which has been able to receive such unanimous
applause from all sectors and audiences, from the strictly conservative to the
more progressive (sharing little more than the fierceness of their
criticism).
A truly enjoyable listen, combining great respect for the rich tradition but
venturing also to enter new themes and musical treatments, especially in the
interaction of the voices, equally effective in the solos, duets,
cuartets...
